- Tai Chi Introduction - (For Health & Fitness Only) -
Tai Chi Chuan translates as "The Supreme Ultimate Fist" and is one of the most famous legendary Chinese Martial Arts. Millions of people worldwide believe that the practice of Tai Chi has tremendous health benefits. Tai Chi follows principles that date back between 3000 to 5000 years. Sifu Christopher Scott is an 8th generation practitioner of Yang Style Tai Chi.
Legends say that Tai Chi was developed from the skills of the snake and crane. The snake represents softness, flexibility and deep breathing. The crane represents poise, calm and grace. Because of its principles of balancing yin and yang, Tai Chi represents the mental, physical and spiritual manifestations of both softness and of strength. Its popularity has soared throughout the world thanks to the great masters who have diligently passed on the arts. Through their own example they seem to have proven to many that the practice of Tai Chi really does help to restore and preserve the youthful vigor and well-being of the whole person.
All students begin their training in the Tai Chi Introduction Program. After a student has shown that they can perform the basic Tai Chi Hand Form on their own (approx. 2 - 6 months), Sifu may give the student the opportunity to graduate into the Complete Tai Chi Chuan System. Students that decide to stay in the Introduction Program will continue to learn Tai Chi for basic health & fitness. A person must be in relatively decent health to practice Tai Chi and must be able to sustain at least 45 min. of continuous physical exercise. A Trial Class is required before joining.
In the Tai Chi Introduction program a short form and basic exercises will be taught. Video

- Qi Gung (Health & Meditation Exercises) -
This program focuses mainly on Qi Gung for health and fitness. Qi Gung (also spelled Chi Gung or Qigong) roughly translates as either "breath (energy) work" or "breath (energy) cultivation". In Chinese the word "Qi" (Chi) is defined as breath and/or energy.
As with Tai Chi instructors many modern day Qi Gung instructors now teach after having only limited experience with a master of the art. Some even teach after attending weekend seminars or learning from books and video. This is no way to become a qualified instructor of true Qi Gung or Tai Chi. An instructor along with students need the consistent guidance of a qualified teacher for many years before they will master the art.
Sifu Christopher Scott teaches Authentic Qi Gung after having spent many years studying and teaching the art under Master Augustine Fong. He has spent over 20 years studying and practicing the concepts of Qi (Chi) for health, medical and martial arts applications.
Every morning at dawn throughout China and in many of the Chinese communities around the world people gather to practice their Qi Gung. Many commonly believe that the development of Qi (Chi) through good exercise is just as important as good nutrition, bathing and sleeping.
These powerful exercises are used for meditation, mental focus, increased energy, general health maintenance, spiritual development and so much more. Qi Gung has been practiced by the Chinese for thousands of years. It has principles that closely resemble the principles followed in Yoga, although most of the exercises are done standing and don't require as much flexibility.
Many of the Qi Gung sets taught can be performed by most people although we do teach Qi Gung sets that are more physically demanding for students who are healthy enough to endure the more intense training. Still meditation postures (internal development) and moving exercises (external development) will be taught.
Sets taught include The 8 Treasures (8 Brocades of Silk), 18 Lohan (Monk) Form, The Muscle and Tendon Change Classic, 13 Methods Qi Gung, 12 Meridian Fist, Mystical 20 Step Rhythm Exercise, Cancer Prevention Qi Gung, etc. A Trial Class is required before joining. Video
